Graphically it renders many fighters and even the own custom builds rather well and the captures of the moves and strikes are nothing short of exceptional with the camera work capturing great essence of an MMA fight to a very high standard which I must complement highly. As such it has a serious stake for the best detailed sports video game that is console based, easily outranking EA's flagship sports offering in the FIFA franchise which is I'd argue a lot more dumbed down than others and putting this iteration amongst say, 2K's NBA games for detail and variety. As a game I believe it captures the depth of the sport very well, highlighted best in the M圜areer section where one can eventually, through 'training' sections, master a whole variety of moves and martial art styles that best fit your characters build and your grasp of the mechanics of the game. There’s also defo going to be a created division just like all the other weight classes and I doubt there’s gonna be cross over unless consensual.Coming at this as both a seasoned gamer and a fan of the world of MMA/General Combat Sports and Sport games as a whole, I am very much conflicted in regards to this title to be quite honest. As soon as a match begins in ranked and I see who my opponent is playing I already know my game plan.

Try playing woman’s s-weight and you’ll only ever fight Joanna with the occasional thug. Like, a lot of weight classes in ranked are completely fucking moot. It’s not competitive when every division has a fighter that’s picked consistently over everyone else. Let us EXPERIMENT with the brand new roster instead of making us create our own fighters if we want to be competitive. Remove created fighters from competitive play there's a reason that most tournaments in UFC 3 are being hosted with regular fighters instead of created ones. If EA truly wants to create a realistic game as they have so stated, then this is the first step. Why should I have to use the top fighters in ranked to be better than some made up created fighter that's never fought a day in their life? Why should I have to use Petr Yan in order to beat someone using Batman in ranked?
This only makes people 1-dimensional and ruins the whole point of making people cycle weight classes, since they can just use the same character anyway (or basically the same), doesn't it? If a certain style doesn't exist at a certain weight class - such as no pure BJJ artist at light heavyweight - there shouldn't be a way to implement them just by creating a CAF. Having CAFs in ranked does nothing to help the competitive scene, and in fact hurts it.
